2020 Northeast Division Race Schedule Announced

2020 NeDiv Schedule Released The SCCA Northeast Division has finalized and announced the race schedule for the 2020 championship season. There are some changes from previous years. The series is going NHIS in place of Palmer. The New Jersey date moves to April following the Summit Point race. Pittsburgh returns to August and the Fun One at Watkins Glen moves to the end of September this year followed six days later by the Thompson event. 2020 Schedule April 4-5: Summit Point, WV April 18-19:  NJMP, Lightning, NJ May 23-24:  NHIS, NH June 12-13:  Lime Rock, Conn July 4-5:  Watkins Glen, NY August 29-30:  Pitt Race Complex, Pa September 26-27: Watkins Glen, NY October 2-3: Thompson, Conn New for 2020: Change in the Divisional Rules After much debate by the rules committee the following will be added to the NeDiv Series rules, "In the spirit of competition, competitors may accumulate NEDRRC points from no more than seven (7) weekends. Standings will be computed using each competitor’s best results; however, any weekend in which a competitor is disqualified must contribute to their year-end total." Meet the Candidates: 2020 NER Board of Directors

Elections for the 2020 NER Board of Directors will occur at this year's Annual Meeting on January 4. The following 5 candidates have been nominated for a seat on the board. Please take a moment to read their statements in consideration for your vote. Jerry Papenhausen Gerald (Jerry) Papenhausen: I was born and raised in central CT and after a stint down South to get my education, I moved back to New England to the Boston area in 2000 to join my college girlfriend while she attended law school. We are now raising our family in Winchester, MA. Though I am a software developer by training, I have spent the last 8 years as a stay-at-home dad for my 3 young children. I am the Troop Leader for both my daughters’ Girl Scout Troops, and I help manage my son's Cub Scout den as well. I am also working hard to help raise the next generation of NER members as I just purchased a turn-key, used Solo Junior A kart from another NER member, since my oldest daughter turns 12 next year.
